Japan's greenhouse gas emissions fall 2.5% in FY22/23 to record low 15/4/2024
(Reuters) - Japan's greenhouse gas emissions fell 2.5% to a record low in the fiscal year through March 2023, government data showed on Friday, helped by reduced emissions in the industrial and service sectors.
 
Emissions for the 2022/23 year dropped to the equivalent of 1.135 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide from 1.164 billion tons a year earlier, data from the environment ministry showed.
